A bright sunshiny day.....

As we close the door on summer and prepare to embrace Autumn, we get the chance to celebrate those last few wonderful sunny days with a few brilliant events..

Annual WUF picnic by the river
To start with, we'd like to say a massive thanks to everyone who attended the Ukulele picnic by the river on the 3rd of August, and in particular to a huge thanks to Elin and Paul for organising it all and opening up their beautiful garden again this year. It is always such a wonderful event and as always a special mention to the Wansford Ukulele Folk for providing the entertainment again!  They really do put on a great show.

We think Elin put it so beautifuly and we agree wholeheartely.

"Thank you to everyone who came, played ukulele, donated, supported and otherwise helped the Ukulele Picnic today.
The amazing amount raised so far (after a couple of honest guests messaged to say that they had forgotten to pay) is again £1100 (+ a bit still to come)

So, another Syringe Driver will soon be out in our community and make such a difference to people at very difficult times. I am truly amazed. Thank you to everyone xxx  And Samantha Carter from NGNPUK worked soooo hard! Thank you Sam!! X"

We are always blown away by the effort and commitiment that Elin (and Paul) put into this event and it testament that so many can't wait to do it again!

There was one last surprise when the total of £1171.00 was raised on the day, and another £1000.00 was matched funded and with a final kind donation of £29 to round the total to an incredible £2200.00!

That's t
wo more Syringe Drivers that will be available in our Communities which will make such a difference to people at very difficult times.

As always we thank you for your support!

Early Bird Christmas Fayre
As we mentioned last month, we're not known for resting on our laurels, so have been head down prepearing for the Early Bird Christmas fayre. We know it's early but the venue is all booked and we alrfeady have a lot of stall holders booked in :). It always seems such a well regarded event, so get there early so you don't miss out ;-)

Please share if you dare
;) xx

So excited..
Finally after months of waiting we had an unexpected knock at the door and a precious box was delivered :) .
It contained 30 brand new Syringe Drivers and lockboxes!

This will be be biggest donation so far and we would like to thank each and everyone of you for your support! Without you all this would never be possible.

We will be handing these over to the District Nursing teams of the Peterborough and Cambridge Fountain Trust to be used in the local communities in mid September :)

These machines will make a massive difference to patients and families in palliative care locally.  However, just in case you missed it our mantra is below:-.

What is a syringe driver?
It is a small portable computerised machine that delivers pain relief and other drugs in palliative care. They can help patients remain comfortable at home with their loved ones instead of going into hospital or a hospice. One machine costs £1100 and can help so many during it's working lifetime. Many areas share a small number of these vital machines.

The Enchanted Plaza
Did you know that NGNPUK have a unit at at the Enchanted Plaza in Yaxley where local crafters have been making items to sell with all the proceeds going to Ngnpuk?

Take a look at their facebook page, of better still, get yourself over to have a look at all the beautiful things people have been making.
